Owner/founder Sharon L. O’Hara is a multifaceted professional with experience in business ownership, administration, and management.  She has over 20 years of top-notch business communications and resumé writing experience and has assisted thousands of clients worldwide since establishing A+ Resumés & More in 1999.

Sharon instills in her clients the key philosophy, “You are your best career manager.” She mentors them in creating a marketable career portfolio that highlights their achievements.

A skilled career counselor with the proven ability to identify her clients’ marketable strengths, Sharon sees the big picture when others only see a slice of their lives.  She can connect the dots to quickly assess her clients to determine how — and where — to best market them.  She has produced documents for corporate executives, DoD employees up to GS15 as well as, for the most senior military officer and enlisted personnel ranks.

She is also a former US Army officer and Veteran with over eight years of honorable service.

The US federal employment process is complex, and Sharon’s experience in the Army has given her an in-depth knowledge of all aspects of it and thus a huge edge in writing federal resumes.  She has established a vast networking structure with every branch of the military, the US Government, DoD, federal contractors, private industry, and various state agencies.  She is also an expert at translating all Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) skills into civilian equivalents and at preparing and posting correspondence for federal employment.

In addition to her military experience, her education prepared Sharon for a career in helping to promote people.  She has a Master Certificate in Human Resource Management, with a 4.0 GPA, from Villanova University; a Master of Business Administration, Sigma Cum Laude, from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University; and a Bachelor of Business Information Systems and Marketing with a minor in Military Science from Western Michigan University.

Sharon is an accomplished writer and top-notch oral communicator with the ability to captivate diverse audiences. She was a Technical Writer/Editor with the US Marine Corps and is a published author in various professional publications, as well as being an award-winning grant writer.  She has received numerous performance awards for leadership, program oversight, and logistical experience.
Sharon is a “people person” with a passion for her work. She feels her best when using her God-given creative talents to help people.  When the opportunity presented itself for her to help others, she thought why not combine her writing talents and love of helping people, thus founding A+ Resumés & More.  Many of her clients have even said that they believed Sharon wanted to be a part of their successful job search.

When she’s not writing resumés and other professional correspondence, Sharon enjoys sewing, gardening, and fishing.  She also reads inspirational and professional books which help her make a positive impact on people’s lives.  One of her favorite quotes is from Maya Angelou — “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”
